Grown by name.
Ground by hand.
Sieved twice.
Our chandan is sourced from licensed heartwood, our multani mati from the clay beds it has always come from, and our roots and barks from small collectors who have supplied the same market sheds for decades.
The drying happens in shade, not a hot dryer, because heat takes the smell out of nagarmotha and vala. The grinding is done in small batches on stone, which runs cooler and slower than a steel mill.
